We have all been there at the perfect company party. The food is ordered, the decorations hung, the speakers lined up and awards sit on a table by a microphone. Add in coworkers and alcohol and you have yourself the perfect company party. As the employees arrive dressed in their party garb, the food is being eaten and drinks get consumed and now the party is started!
This is the perfect scenario for any office gathering, yet there are some things to consider when bringing the work crew together, outside of work hours.
- Have your company party outside of the office. Taking your employees to a different location will keep the workaholics away from their desk and allow for the employees to mingle in a location they don’t usually interact in. There may be some expense to it, but it will be well worth it in the end.
- Alcohol can make or break your event. Drinking definitely brings people together and can create a much more relaxed atmosphere for your employees to get to know each other and mingle. However, monitoring how much people drink can be just as important. Too much alcohol and you could find yourself in a messy slip and slide of emotions where people aren’t acting their best and that will in turn affect the office long after the party is over.
- Give out awards or have a raffle. People love the idea of trying to win things. This can be a fun and lighthearted way to boost employee morale. And some healthy competition to get the trophy for most sales or productivity makes for a fun work environment.
Most important make the atmosphere light and fun and don’t forget the decor!.
